Job Resources

People with disabilities have the ability and often the desire to work in a variety of jobs.  There are many organizations and agencies around the state of Connecticut that can help people with mental illnesses develop job skills, find meaningful employment, and work towards career goals.  Below, you can find links to some of those agencies.

Bureau of Rehabilitative Services

A division of the Connecticut Department of Social Services, BRS is committed to helping people with disabilities live and work independently in jobs in a variety of industries and skill/education levels.  The BRS web-site can help you discover more about BRS programs and provide you with links to other disability and employment related web sites.

Connecticut Department of Labor

The DOL web-site provides links to employers, employment fairs, and specialized services for all people in Connecticut.

DMHAS Employment Services

As part of their recovery-oriented services, DMHAS believes that meaningful employment is one way for people with psychiatric disabilities to create meaningful community connections and foster recovery.  For a complete list of agencies that work with DMHAS on their Employment Services, please click here.  For further information, please call Ruth Howell at 860-418-6821
